Legislative Affairs

According to recent statistics, between 70% and 75% of national legislation adopted at EU Member State are significantly shaped by EU legislation. This is particularly true in the fields in which the office is primarily active, hence including the fields of sector specific economic regulation (including telecommunications and energy regulation), IP law, media law and related fields such as DRM.

Therefore, companies are well advised to express their concerns and submit their proposals for amendments in relation to draft EU legislation at an early point in time and throughout the legislative process.

The office closely monitors legislative developments at the EU level. It is in the position to provide to its clients a detailed regulatory impact analysis of EU legislative initiatives and related ‘arbitrage services’. It is in the position to subsequently submit interventions on behalf of its clients at all stages of the legislative procedure with the EU institutions involved and with authorities at the national level involved in the EU standardization and comitology procedures.
